NON-INVASIVE TREATMENT

Conditions Treated with PrTMS Therapy

PrTMS therapy treats a multitude of brain health conditions.  Traumatic events, such as surgery, tumors, chemotherapy and physical injury, cause neurons to develop disorganized frequencies and slower oscillation movements leading to adverse brain functioning. These neuronal changes often develop into neurological disorders which are commonly treated with medication (if at all).  PrTMS magnetic pulses have proven to balance other key areas of the brain which help relieve symptoms from various brain health disorders including those listed below:

Cognitive Decline

Cognitive decline is the deterioration of essential brain functions, including multitasking, planning, and problem-solving. The effects caused by cognitive decline can be sudden or gradual, temporary or permanent, depending on the person.

Cognitive decline symptoms, such as an increase in forgetfulness and distraction, are normal occurrences as we age. When cognitive decline begins to affect how efficiently we function daily, it indicates a more significant concern.

Executive Function

Executive Functioning is the foundation of who we are as human beings. It determines thoughts, behaviors, actions, self-confidence, and outlook on life.

Executive Functioning encompasses vast cognitive and neurological processes such as decision-making, critical thinking, and adaptability skills. It helps us to focus and work toward goals, plan and prioritize tasks, and be cognizant of our emotions and those of others.

Concussions

Concussions are mild traumatic brain injuries (TBI) that affect the brain's ability to function correctly. The swelling and bruising of nerves and blood vessels produce chemical changes and temporary loss of normal cognitive and neurological functioning. Post-Concussive Syndrome can severely affect every aspect of your life when symptoms last longer than expected.

Peak Performance

Peak performance treatment uses PrTMS to improve mood, increase concentration and boost cognitive performance.

Peak performance treatment is ideal for those with mild depression, mild anxiety, or those who are not interested in trying in psychotropic medications.

Smoking Cessation

In 2017, researchers demonstrated how TMS can help people quit smoking. In this study, TMS treatment significantly reduced the risk of relapse, increased abstinence rate, and increased uptake of the self-help intervention.

Migraines

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a safe and effective treatment that delivers magnetic pulses to the occipital cortex of the brain. These pulses reduce overactive brain activity that has been associated with migraines. At Rose NeuroSpa, our patients with migraines have experienced the efficacy of TMS therapy.

Addiction

Addiction is a complex disorder characterized by compulsive engagement in a behavior or use of a substance, despite harmful consequences. It is a chronic disease that affects the brain's reward, motivation, and decision-making systems.

Addiction can take many forms, including drug and alcohol addiction, gambling addiction, sex addiction, and even technology or social media addiction. The hallmark of addiction is the inability to control the behavior or substance use, even when it is causing adverse effects on one's life.

Sleeping Disorders

Sleep disorders can have a profound negative effect on every aspect of our lives. Inadequate sleep influences our energy, disrupts our ability to concentrate, disturbs our state of mind, and affects our overall well-being.

Left untreated, complications caused by sleep disorders may induce further health consequences.

Athletic Performance

Athletes not only must train their bodies to perform effectively, but they must also prepare their minds for the rigors of competition. Positive mental health is crucial to how athletes prepare, perform, and react to intense challenges.

Routine preparation assists mental readiness by easing nervousness and distractions through habitual procedures.  Athletes are under pressure to perform from various sources. Some are positive, and some are negative. Adverse internal or external factors can have a detrimental impact on their mental health. They can lead to anxiety, depression, performance issues, injuries, and physical decline.

Addiction Relapse Recovery

In 2018, researchers demonstrated TMS significantly reduced the brain’s reactivity to drug cues in chronic alcohol users as well as chronic cocaine users (Kearney-Ramos 2018). In this study, addicts viewed drug cues, like liquor bottles, and their reactions to the cues were studied using fMRI. Both alcohol users and cocaine users showed significantly reduced drug reactivity following TMS treatment.

Tinnitus

Tinnitus is the perception of noise or ringing in the ears when no external sound is present. It is a common problem that affects 15-20% of the population. Tinnitus is not a disease but a symptom of an underlying condition, such as age-related hearing loss, ear injury, or a circulatory system disorder.

There are two main types of tinnitus, subjective and objective. Subjective tinnitus is the most experienced and occurs where only the person affected can hear the noise. This condition affects the outer, middle, or inner ear and causes issues with the auditory nerves or brain pathways.

Chemo Brain

Chemo brain, also known as chemotherapy-related cognitive impairment or chemotherapy-induced cognitive dysfunction, is a term used to describe cognitive changes that can occur during or after chemotherapy treatment for cancer. Mental changes caused by chemotherapy treatment may lead to the inability to perform everyday activities.

The complications caused by chemo brain can negatively affect daily living and the ability to function independently. These complications may produce high emotional distress and a decline in mental well-being.
