IV and IM Ketamine

Experience the Future of Mental Health Treatment with IV and IM Ketamine

What Is the difference between IV and IM Ketamine?

Safe, Controlled, and Monitored

  • Intravenous (IV) Ketamine involves administering the medication via an IV drip directly into the bloodstream, ensuring a fast and controlled delivery.

  • Intramuscular (IM) Ketamine is a more cost-effective treatment that is administered via a shot that is injected into one of your larger muscles (thigh or arm).

Each treatment lasts about 40 minutes and is conducted in a safe, comfortable, and monitored environment. A dedicated nurse will be present throughout the entire process to monitor your blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation, ensuring your safety and well-being.

Personalized Treatment Plans

Our Ketamine Process

Each patient’s journey is unique, and so is our approach to ketamine therapy. Our team will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and goals. Typically, participants receive a course of 6-12 ketamine treatments over 2-4 weeks. The frequency and number of sessions are individualized, and subsequent treatments often help prolong the positive effects that are typically felt after the very first treatment.

Consultation

Your journey with Ketamine therapy begins with a complimentary initial consultation with our Executive Director who will explain the various treatment options and applicable financial considerations, including insurance availability.

Initial Evaluation

Next you will meet with one of our providers for a comprehensive initial evaluation. Our experienced clinicians will review your medical history, discuss your mental health concerns, and determine if IV or IM Ketamine is the right treatment option for you. This session ensures that we understand your needs and can provide the best possible care.

Safe and Controlled Treatments

During each session, you will receive the ketamine at a slow and controlled rate to maximize its therapeutic benefits while minimizing potential side effects. Our treatment rooms are designed to provide a calming and private environment, allowing you to relax and focus on your healing journey.

Monitoring and Support

Throughout the ketamine process, your vital signs will be closely monitored to ensure your safety. Our dedicated nursing staff will be by your side, providing support and addressing any concerns you may have. After the session, you will have a period of observation to ensure you are feeling well before you leave.

Is Ketamine Therapy Covered by Insurance?

Understanding Your Coverage Options

Since this type of treatment coverage is not a straightforward yes or no, we are actively working with our insurance providers to understand coverage for treatments.  Currently Medicaid will cover treatment, and other commercial payers may pay for a portion of a treatment.

While ketamine infusions have gained recognition for their effectiveness in treating depression and anxiety, insurance coverage varies.  Insurance coverage has been limited by the fact that ketamine infusion treatments for treating depression is currently considered off-label.

As a result, this has hindered the opportunity for large trials needed for FDA approval, limiting insurance coverage.  However, you should know that insurance coverage can vary greatly, and some insurance companies are now considering portions of this treatment as a covered expense.
